Talking of being outdoors, a study covered last month found that challenging sports that require the coordination of complex movement patterns provide the greatest boost to the mind.
Examples of sports that require complex movement patterns include tennis, baseball, ice hockey, basketball, badminton and squash.
Still, those stuck indoors can still work on improving their personality, aspects of which can be changed in as little as two weeks.
People who wanted to increase aspects of their conscientiousness and openness to experience were able to do so with a little effort, the study found.
