The question is:
Do we really live in the present, or are we always living in our mind’s stories?
There is no such entity called time.
Why?
For the simple reason that nobody can see, hear, smell, taste or feel any entity called time.
Nobody can see, hear, smell, taste or feel gravity either, however, we can intuit/infer/imagine gravity when we observe its effects on objects in outer space.
Likewise we can intuit/infer/imagine all the natural laws, the entire electromagnetic spectrum, atoms, sub-atomic particles etc. etc, through their effects that are detectable by our 5 senses.
Like time, space is also merely a concept.
We observe non-stop movements all around us all through our wakefulness.
We superimpose time and space on these movements.
Man-made clocks do not and cannot measure time per se, but they only measure movements.
Obviously, man-made-clock-time is a relative reality that has utility value in our lives lived in duality.
When all the 5 sensations and the constant chatter of thoughts are shut off, like in deep sleep, swoon, coma and death, there is no time, no space, no creation and no conscious observer, but just being alive in a state of deep peace and un-manifest potential, in immaculate silence.
This immense potential, alive, in a state of deep peace is the absolute reality.
Nothing is happening at all in the absolute sense!
We can never ever prove the independent, objective reality of the creation.
We only know creation and wakefulness to exist simultaneously.
We do not have any evidence for stand-alone consciousness, nor stand-alone creation.
Dreams and wakefulness come and go in the eternal silence.
All there is IS EXISTENCE in deep peace and immaculate SILENCE.
