HUMAN BRAIN

1. Early humans evolved, via natural selection, toward increased mental survival skills, and also high mobility.
2. Mental skills benefited from a bigger brain, and mobility favored small hips. So there were conflicting tendencies.
3. The conflict favored brains that were not too big for birth but could develop skills thereafter.
4. We ended up with brains that both grow after birth and learn a lot. Hence our high intelligence.
