FXS X ANXTY- NEEDS SSRI?

Many patients with FXS begin to show signs of anxiety at a very early age, often by 2‐4 years. Serotonin is one of the most important neurotransmittersin the brain involved in regulating mood and affect. The selective serotonin re‐uptake inhibitors (SSRIs) can be very effective in treating these symptoms. They have been used on an empirical basis in affected patients as young as 4 years old. SSRIs are the treatment of choice for symptoms of anxiety and depression. In the FXS population, antidepressants, particularly SSRIs are somewhat helpful
