I have a theory that consciousness is just a response to a stimulus. Nothing more and nothing less. The response can take the form of any number physical, chemical, or electromagnetic phenomena. Furthermore consciousness is fractal in essence. This implies that everything is conscious. The phenomena that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, is what manifests consciousness.
