BG 2.63. IED

Chapter 2: Sankhya Yoga -  Self Knowledge

2.63. Krodhad bhavati sammohah sammohat smrti-vibhramah
smrti-bhramsad buddhi-naso buddhi-nasat pranasyati

(Krishna speaking to Arjuna)
2.63. From anger comes delusion. From delusion loss of memory. From loss of memory comes the destruction of discrimination. From the destruction of discrimination he perishes.

COMMENTARY: Anger leads to clouded judgment. From anger arises delusion. When a person becomes angry they lose their power of discernment between right and wrong. The person will speak and do anything they like. They will be swept away by the impulse of passion and emotions. Their use of memory dwindles. They will act irrationally and impulsively. The downward spiral begins. They perish.
