Vairagya. Break from the experience

 A

The Sanskrit phrase “Nispanda Chetna” can be translated into English as “motionless consciousness” or “still awareness.”

Let’s break it down:

  • Nispanda (निष्पंद) = without vibration, without movement — completely still or motionless.
  • Chetna (चेतना) = consciousness, awareness, or pure sentience.

So, Nispanda Chetna refers to a state of consciousness that is completely still yet fully aware — a state beyond thoughts, emotions, or mental activity.

In yogic or meditative terms, it’s the state where:

  • The mind becomes absolutely calm.
  • There is no movement of thoughts.
  • Yet, awareness remains — clear, luminous, and alive.

This is often described as:

  • The witness state (Sakshi Bhava)
  • The fourth state (Turiya) beyond waking, dreaming, and deep sleep
  • Or pure consciousness itself

Would you like me to explain how to experience or practice reaching Nispanda Chetna through meditation?
