Technological and cultural changes are beginning to transform our sense of self.
humans have the ability to perceive themselves as individuals, as part of groups, but also as “nobody.” Being “nobody” is, for instance, what we experience when we go out dancing and lose ourselves in the music, or when we immerse ourselves in an addictive TV series. The danger is that if we spend more time engaging with multimedia that lets us be nobody, we’ll lose our sense of individual and group identity.
