"I don't think about whether people will remember me or not. I've been an okay person. I've learned a lot. I've taught people a thing or two. That's what's important. Sooner or later the public will forget you, the memory of you will fade. What's important is the individuals you've influenced along the way."

When you encounter a person who maintains inner silence, the silence around them is palpable.
You can have it too, if you sit quietly and don’t bother yourself.
You can also go for a walk, or work steadily.
A moment may come when you’re shaken by sudden anxiety, despite your intention to enjoy inner peace.
You pace around, complaining about the weather and everything else.
You identify problems and try to fix them.
Sri Ramana said we’re like a man who was resting in a beautiful oasis.
He left the oasis to wander the desert, under the scorching sun.
He left the oasis to find the oasis.
It’s not a very good strategy, is it?
If we wandered away from the oasis, we can return.
The best strategy is to immediately return.
Some folks claim they can’t have inner peace until something changes.
The chatterer who says this is the very one who’s preventing them from rediscovering peace.
So when they say: “I don’t feel peace,” it’s helpful to answer:
“Who doesn’t?”
Their disquiet is not a disability that needs to be accommodated.
It’s just an incorrect belief that needs to be challenged.
