Throughout the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna refers to Samkhya and Yoga as one thing. Samkhya philosophy is far more than just the enumeration of the multiverses. It is the oldest of the Astikas (Orthodox schools of thought) in India. Although it no longer exists as a separate, living entity, its immeasurable impact on our Yoga philosophy and practice is undeniable.
