People who fake their emotions experience the highest levels of physical and mental strain, research finds.

A disconnect between the emotion people display and the one they feel causes psychological damage, including emotional exhaustion.

“Self-reflection is necessary to dig beneath our own layers and visit the inner crevices of our heart and mind to develop an understanding of life.” ~Unknown

"[The mind exists] to confound you and confuse you. That is the only reason it exists. It exists because of the senses, taste, touch, feel, smell and hear. You need a mind to do these things. But if the mind is destroyed, so-to-speak, then reality ensues. Reality is love, loving kindness, compassion, joy, peace, happiness, the true Self. This is what the universe really is. Not what it appears to be."

Nobody in this material world is innocent. Originally we have all come here to enjoy and control independently from God. At some point in eternity we turned our backs on God. To facilitate souls turning away from Him, God constructed this material world where we can imitate Him as enjoyers and controllers. So we all came here to take God’s position, and in that sense we gave up our innocence.

The material world is a place of stringent laws, natural laws, and one such law is the law of karma. The law of karma is like any other law of nature, it works whether you believe in it or not. You may not believe in the law of gravity, but if you throw yourself off a cliff, it will act non the less.

The law of karma is the law of action and reaction. Simply put, the law of karma dictates that we will suffer and/or enjoy according to the our activities. Or like the Bible states - as you sow you shall reap.

Note, how this statement from the B makes no sense without reincarnation. We reap right from our very birth. We reap a certain family, destiny, gender, nationality, abilities etc. When would we have sown that if not in earlier lives?

So the law of karma can be understood properly only in connection with reincarnation. When seen in terms of many lives, the question - how do bad things happen to good people? - becomes a non-issue.

If bad things happen to good people in this life, it’s a reaction to bad things they did in a previous life. Similarly, if bad people are seen to enjoy a happy life, they are enjoying the karmic reactions of pious activities performed in a previous life.

In contrast to this we have the material conception of things - whether I am born into a nice, caring, wealthy family, with good looks and good education, or I get born to a junkie mother and an abusive father; whether I am born as the king of A or I'm born in S to a family on the run from bombings and war - it is all just up to a throw of the dice.

But ultimate, as I said, it is not a question of belief. Karma is a fact, whether we believe it or not. It is a direct observable fact that we suffer or enjoy according to our activities. It’s as simple as that.

If people in general understood that, they would be more careful how they act towards other living entities.

Once a journalist asked Srila Prabhupada - your grace, how would you create peace in the world, and without a second’s hesitation Srila Prabhupada answered - I would close all the slaughter-houses in the world.

As long as there are slaughter-houses, there will be battlefields. A vegetarian diet is the acid test of humanitarian. -- Leo Tolstoy

A scientific experiment could be made - take a butcher and vegetable-grocer, then monitor how much each of them suffers and enjoys over a period of, say, five years. A clear pattern would emerge.

There are statistics, even now, saying that the vocation with the highest rate of accidents on the job is slaughter-house workers.

That’s scientific proof of karma.

The law of karma dictates that the violence a person inflicts on others will come back to oneself in equal measure. To kill animals involves more violence than killing plants. It’s obviously more violent to cut the throat of a pig or a sheep than to pluck a tomato or dig up a potato.

Surely, plants are also living entities, but they evidently suffer less by being killed than animals.

The more consciously evolved a living being is, the more severe is the karmic reaction to killing it. Evolution of consciousness progresses like this - fish, plants, insects, reptiles, birds, animals, and humans.

Suta Goswami says:

Glorification of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is performed in the parampara system; that is, it is conveyed from spiritual master to disciple. Such glorification is relished by those no longer interested in the false, temporary glorification of this cosmic manifestation. Descriptions of the Lord are the right medicine for the conditioned soul undergoing repeated birth and death. Therefore, who will cease hearing such glorification of the Lord except a butcher or one who is killing his own self? —SB 10.1.4

Lord Krishna's teachings 🙏 (verse 13.29)

The mind is spontaneously inclined to material pleasures. If we follow the inclinations of our mind, we become degraded into deeper and deeper material consciousness.

New year won't change anything for you if you continue to live by the same old tendencies and mental patterns.

Nope. Consciousness has absolutely nothing to do with quantum mechanics.

There is, unfortunately, a tendency of people without a formal educational background in science to see pop reporting of science articles use words in unfamiliar ways, and assume they know what the words mean.

For example, many Creationists make this mistake when they say “evolution is just a theory.” In science, the word “theory” does not mean “guess” or “hunch” or “idea.” It means “model that makes predictions and is supported by available evidence.”

The same thing happens with the word “observer.”

It is very very very important to understand that in physics, “observer” does not mean “a person looking at something.” An “observer” is any classical system whose state depends in a thermodynamically irreversible way on the state of the thing being observed.” Consciousness absolutely positively is not part of the definition.

Just as Creationists don’t understand what “theory” means, and so they make up all kinds of bogus arguments, a lot of New Agers do not understand what “observer” means, and so they make up fanciful stories about how “quantum physics says you change the world just by looking at it.”

This is not completely true.

While Buddhism and Jainism did adopt Prakrit,Pali and all the Middle Indo Aryan Languages, many of their scriptures were written in the Old Indo Aryan Language(Vedic Sanskrit) too.

The reason why many of the Buddhist Tripitakas and the Jain Angas and Agamas are in Middle Indo Aryan languages like Pali and Prakrit and even Aprabhamsa is because these were the vernacular forms of Vedic Sanskrit.

Vedic Sanskrit was considered the formal language which was used in the courts and was used by the elites while Prakrit was a more informal vernacular language. Prakrit is mainly like Vulgar Latin. Moreover Sanskrit is a language while Prakrit was a group of languages/dialects which gave rise to many of the modern day Indian languages.

For example, magadhi prakrit gave rise to the eastern Indian languages like bengali, odia and assamese.Maharashtri Prakrit gave rise to the marathi language etc.

I will answer from personal experience.

Chanted mantras fill my day-to-day life with a deep, abiding joy. My main mantra is my final, most reliable refuge in hard or stressful situations. It is a light and a blessing that fills my mind with happiness and positivity when I call upon it. It profoundly improves my mood, and gives me the ability to be almost unshakably calm and immune to anxiety. My mantra is my single most treasured possession.

Other chanted mantras help improve my concentration and memory recall. They sharpen and clarify my mental focus like polishing a mirror.

Certain other chanted mantras give me a huge boost to my energy levels. With their help I can essentially just keep on going, tirelessly, as long as I need to. I’ve used this when working 12-hour long night shifts three times a week while also in full-time school during the day, and I really did not experience a lack of energy. The power of mantras makes me effectively tireless.

Other chanted mantras help me induce very deep states of meditation, trance, intense ecstasy, and/or vivid visions when I wish to.

Other chanted mantras cause my body to deeply relax, helping with muscle tension or letting me fall into a deep sleep in just five minutes or so.

I train in martial arts, and I find that chanting certain mantras before a sparring session can dramatically improve my performance.

Taking 9,800 walking steps is the optimal level for reduced likelihood of getting dementia, but the intensity of your walking could be the key.

A study found that the odds of developing dementia is reduced by 50 percent when people did nearly 10,000 steps.

Alright, Dasharatha Rama is non different from the Supreme Narayana.

Lord Brahma explains this beautifully, He quotes and I state:

"You are the Lord Narayana himself the glorious god, who wields the discus. You are the Divine Boar with a single tusk, the conqueror of your past and future enemies. You are Brahman, the imperishable, the Truth abiding in the middle as well as at the end of the universe. You are the supreme righteousness of people, whose powers go everywhere. You are the wielder of a bow called Saranga, the lord of the senses, the supreme soul of the universe, the best of men, the invincible, the wielder of a sword named Nandaka, the all-pervader, the bestower of happiness to the earth and endowed with great might. Oh Rama, You are the sacrificial performance. You are the sacred syllable 'Vashat'. You are the mystic syllable 'OM'. Verily You are higher than the highest. Bereft of You, this universe does not exist"

So that is the answer.
