As the explosion continued the temperature dropped, reaching thirty thousand million (3 X 1010) degrees Centigrade after about one-tenth of a second; ten thousand million degrees after about one second; and three thousand million degrees after about fourteen seconds. This was cool enough so that the electrons and positrons began to annihilate faster than they could be recreated out of the photons and neutrinos. The energy released in this annihilation of matter temporarily slowed the rate at which the universe cooled, but the temperature continued to drop, finally reaching one thousand million degrees at the end of the first three minutes. It was then cool enough for the protons and neutrons to begin to form into complex nuclei, starting with the nucleus of heavy hydrogen (or deuterium), which consists of one proton and one neutron. The density was still high enough (a little less than that of water) so that these light nuclei were able rapidly to assemble themselves into the most stable light nucleus, that of helium, consisting of two protons and two neutrons.

In his talk, and in a preprint written in March 1965, Peebles had considered the radiation that might have been present in the early universe. 'Radiation' is of course a general term, encompassing electromagnetic waves of all wavelengths - not only radio waves, but infra-red light, visible light, ultraviolet light, X rays, and the very short-wavelength radiation called gamma rays. (See table, page 164.) There are no sharp distinctions; with changing wavelength one kind of radiation blends gradually into another. Peebles noted that if there had not been an intense background of radiation present during the first few minutes of the universe, nuclear reactions would have proceeded so rapidly that a large fraction of the hydrogen present would have been 'cooked' into heavier elements, in contradiction with the fact that about three-quarters of the present universe is hydrogen. This rapid nuclear cooking could have been prevented only if the universe was filled with radiation having an enormous equivalent temperature at very short wavelengths, which could blast nuclei apart as fast as they could be formed.

2 SPEECHES OF EISENHOWER

A day before the invasion of Normandy, General Dwight D. Eisenhower gave a famous speech in which he told the troops, “The eyes of the world are upon you.”

Less known is an alternate speech Eisenhower wrote in case the invasion was unsuccessful. In what would later become one of the world's most coveted pieces of scrap paper, the general wrote, “My decision to attack at this time and place was based upon the best information available. The troops, the air, and the Navy did all that Bravery and devotion to duty could do. If any blame or fault attaches to the attempt it is mine alone.”

In the same way that we position ourselves in a landscape using spatial markers (for example, knowing a particular turn in the road we need to take comes after a large tree), we use events – such as birthday celebrations and family holidays – as temporal markers in our “timescape”.

We believe that COVID restrictions, particularly lockdowns, removed these markers that “anchor” us in the timescape, and the absence of these markers distorted our perception of time. We can remember events happening, we just don’t know when they happened.

🔴Snana Yatra (Bathing Festival) of Lord Jagannath at a glance -4th June 2023

A very special and sacred festival of Lord Jagannath held in the full-moon day of the month of Jyestha. This festival is known as 'Devasnan Purnima' or 'Snana Yatra' (Bathing Festival) to commemorate the appearance day of Lord Jagannath.

According to Skanda Purana when King Indradyumna installed the wooden deities and he arranged this bathing ceremony. This day considered to be the birth-day of Lord Jagannath. According to Scripture if one gets a vision of the Lord on this day,washes away all his sins .

On the auspicious occasion, Lord Jagannath and his siblings, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra, are given a lavish ceremonial bath with scented water ,This ritual is called 'Jaladhibasa' (Jala - water, abhishek - bath). 

Following which they supposedly fall “sick” and are transferred to a secret room known as Anasara Ghara. Here, they undergo treatment and stay away from the public view for a period of 15 days. During this period the Deities offered only fruits and water mixed with cheese and Dasamula (Root) medicines to cure from fever.

During all these days the daily rites of the temple remain suspended for three deities. Due to the sacred bath with 108 pitchers of water, the colours painted on the images fade out. The devotees repaint the images with new colors and on the 16th day the Deities appear in their new forms after colouration become ready for the public view. 

The festival of the first appearance of the Lord Jagannath to his devotees is called 'Netrotsava' (festival for the eyes) or 'Nava Yauvanotsava' (festival of the ever new youth).

After the fever abates, Lord of Univer of Jagannatha along with Brother Balabhadra and Sister Subdra set out for magnifiecent parade on the chariots in a grand procession, what is better known as Rath Yatra -The grandest spectacle of World.
