imaginal anger work”. Here’s the setup:
- Grab a tea towel or a small blanket
- Connect with your anger by speaking from it or identifying bodily sensations (often both)
- Imagine various scenarios for expressing this anger, such as screaming alone in a forest, hitting an inanimate object like a car with a baseball bat, or running as fast as you can.
- Choose a scenario and play it out in your mind while squeezing the towel as if wringing out water.
- Parasympathetic (Ventral Vagal) System: Responsible for rest, digest, safety, social engagement, and relaxation.
- Sympathetic Nervous System: Governs the fight or flight response.
- Dorsal Vagal System: Controls the freeze and shutdown reactions.
Regulating the nervous system: practical techniques
- Down-regulated breathwork
- Voice work – singing, whistling, humming, sighing etc.
- Going for a walk – I recommend a daily walk, preferably a familiar path so your body could get into a flow state without having to pay attention to path finding
- Physical touch with trusted friends and family
- Connecting with animals or nature
- Somatic meditation
- Yoga nidra or body scan
- Movement practices such as free form dance or stretching
- Journaling

The eternal problem of the human being is how to structure his waking hours.

Para Brahman or Param Brahman (Sanskrit: परब्रह्म, romanized: parabrahma) in Hindu philosophy is the "Supreme Brahman" that which is beyond all descriptions and conceptualisations. It is described as the formlessness (in the sense that it is devoid of Maya) that eternally pervades everything, everywhere in the universe and whatever is beyond.[1]
Para Brahman is conceptualised in diverse ways. In the Advaita Vedanta tradition, the Para Brahman is a synonym of nirguna brahman, i.e., the attribute-less Absolute. Conversely, in Dvaita Vedanta and Vishistadvaita Vedanta traditions, the Para Brahman is defined as saguna brahman, i.e., the Absolute with attributes. In Vaishnavism, Shaivism, and Shaktism, Vishnu, Shiva, and Adi Shakti respectively are Para Brahman.[2] Mahaganapati is considered as Para Brahman by the Ganapatya sect. Kartikeya is considered as Para Brahman by the Kaumaram sect.

This is indeed true. Our lives and the way we experience this Universe are mere dreams.
Everything we see is presented to our conscious selves by the same part of the brain that also generates our dreams when we sleep. The only difference is that when we are awake, these dreams are created with signals that arrive from our senses. When we dream, the worlds we see are less based on reality. Sometimes they rhyme with what we remember, though. The distinguishing feature of the daytime dream that we call life is that when we communicate with other people, some aspects of their dream that they call their life is shared between them and us. We can, for example, tell each other that we both see a tree. In our night dreams, our experiences are private. One of the things that don’t really exist is colors. They are filled into our representation of reality by the part of the brain that creates dreams.
Furthermore, what we see is only loosely based on reality. We are animals that evolved adaptations to avoid danger and obtain food in the savannah. It has been mathematically and experimentally proven that a biased view of reality, in which some aspects of it are ignored, and some are exaggerated, improves our evolutionary fitness and survival. This means that we literally evolved to be deceived in our conscious experience. How we understand reality is also connected to the process of thinking in which our brain assigns tags or names to fragments of reality.
Our perception of the Universe cannot be correct likewise because of our ultimate condition of being forms of life. The clump of matter that is us needs the energy to maintain its structure over time. Our thinking is a process, as the signals travel in our nerve cells. The Universe is fundamentally just a series of stills, like film frames. Our brain has a dedicated subsystem to create movement out of these stills. We are irreversibly locked into a change around us in sync with our metabolism, which keeps us alive. If the metabolism stops, we die.
This and all the above prevent us from knowing the true nature of the Universe for now and maybe forever, but the stories we create and tell each other about the workings of the Cosmos can keep us amused and busy in the neverending pursuit of the elusive Truth about the reality that is merely a persuasive dream.
The question was: Are this Universe and our lives a mere dream?

The solitary individual can structure time in two ways: activity and fantasy.
The position is, then, that at any given moment each individual in a social aggregation will exhibit a Parental, Adult or Child ego state, and that individuals can shift with varying degrees of readiness from one ego state to another.

BAYESIAN THINKING

According to the empirical materials of Theravada Buddhism, if we regard each aggregate as an “awareness” which is the state of being conscious of something, then contemplating the five aggregates would reveal the existence of “awareness of awareness”, and discern that it arises a moment after each aggregate and they do not appear simultaneously.
Thus, the slowing down of “speed” in vipassana would reveal that the notion that there is a constant self always there knowing or observing all aggregates just results from “awareness of awareness” appearing between any two aggregates, something that under ordinary conditions happens very quickly. (That's like a torch spinning so fast that it looks like a ring of fire.)
This would lead to the insight of “non-self” in Buddhism which means no subject of awareness (or consciousness) at all. In other words, the essence of “non-self” is the single-tier reality versus the two-tier illusion.

Many professions, such as physicians and judges, are expected to make critical decisions based on data. When evaluating a positive mammography screening, for example, Bayesian conclusions are frequently required. Several empirical studies have revealed poor judgments and even cognitive illusions among medical professionals who need to apply Bayesian thinking (Hoffrage et al., 2000; Operskalski and Barbey, 2016).

The real benefit of studying the Buddha’s teachings and the statements of enlightened masters is to be inspired to change the way we think, speak, and behave, which will make us more civil, gentle, and peaceful. When we thoroughly investigate the value of the meaning presented, it becomes obvious that we can become free—each and every one of us. — Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche

“All sentient beings have within our minds loving-kindness—we all have that, everybody has; all sentient beings,” Rinpoche explained, gently smiling. “Broadly speaking, Buddhist practice is based on kindness; Buddhist ethics are based on kindness. In general, in Buddhist practice we talk about sila, samadhi, and prajna [Skt: moral virtue, meditative consciousness, and spiritual wisdom]. Sila, then, means ethics. Ethics means not harming anyone. What does it mean to harm? The five negative actions: killing; stealing; sexual misconduct; drinking or drugs that disturb the mind; and lying. This is a natural law and we all know that! This is not even necessarily a uniquely Buddhist way of practice; this is a natural, necessary thing.

“Because all sentient beings are your own father and mother, and as such we need to help and serve all sentient beings!” he laughed. “Whether they hate you or love you, you need to help them, to serve them. You should never ever be angry, never ever hurt them. It might be very difficult, but it’s very logical!

People who start dreaming sooner after falling asleep are at greater risk of depression, research finds.
The effect runs through families, with those starting to dream within 60 minutes of falling asleep twice as likely to experience depression.

Nope. Not supposed to ‘make sense.’
Making sense is in the realm of mind (duality.)
Everything existing only Now, with past, present, and future an illusion is in the realm of that which cannot be grokked by the mind, only experienced by Awareness Itself (non-duality.)
Since you are still in duality, not directly experiencing Reality - as evidenced by you still trying to ‘make sense’ of ‘ideas’ of reality - you can not expect a satisfactory understanding of Reality based on quasi-spiritual concepts you heard or read somewhere.
In the deepest stillness & silence, beyond mind trying to understand anything, you may directly experience Reality. If & when that happens, you will notice there is no longer any “you” there…just Reality.
