There was a polemic written by one Srivaishnav a scholar called śata-dūṣani — the 100 defects of Advaita. Another Advaitic scholar wrote a rebuttal entitled śata-bhūṣaṇi - the 100 ornaments of Advaita, in which all the objections were refuted.
The polemic literature is vast and cannot be covered in a Quora post - some respondents are doing a good job, I just want to clarify that without fully studying the topic Advaita and Śankara can be misunderstood.
One of the greatest misunderstandings is his famous saying:– Brahma-satya jagan-mithya – Brahman is true the world is false or an “illusion”. In the very next line he says:– nitya-anitya vastu viveka — one should thus discriminate between the eternal and the temporary.
What he and all the Indian philosophers without exception affirm is that the world of experience is impermanent, unsubstantial and ephemeral. When seen from our personal experience it appears as real but from the perspective of eternity it appears like a mirage.
