///////////////////The new species, named the Caqueta titi monkey or Callicebus caquetensis, is one of about 20 species of titi monkeys, which all live in the Amazon basin, according to primatologist Thomas Defler, who led the expedition that made the discovery announced Aug. 12 in Primate Conservation.

//////////////////////Gregoire (c.1942 – December 17, 2008) was, up until his death, Africa's oldest known chimpanzee. For the last eleven years of his life, he was a resident of the Tchimpounga Sanctuary (part of the Jane Goodall Institute) in the Republic of the Congo. His special friend was the chimpanzee Clara. Previously he had lived in solitary confinement for more than 40 years in a cage at the Brazzaville Zoo before being rescued by staff of the Jane Goodall Institute and airlifted to the Sanctuary during a time of war.
//////////////////////INVESTMENT IN OFFSPRING IS ASYMMETRICAL BETN SEXES
////////////////////////////"Contagious yawning" is well known among humans, and earlier studies have shown that chimps are not immune to its suggestive influence either.

//////////////////////////////////////Leakey's Angels is a relatively recent name given to three women sent by archaeologist Louis Leakey to study primates in their natural environments. The three are Jane Goodall, Dian Fossey, and BirutÄ— Galdikas. They studied chimpanzees, gorillas and orangutans respectively.
//////////////////////////////CONSOLATION TOWARDS LOSER APE
////////////////////////////////////Kyoto, Japan assessed social learning exhibited by these macaques during stone-handling, a behavior that has been passed down from elder to younger since it was observed in some of the troops in 1979. Stone-handling, in this study, included rubbing and clacking stones together, pounding them onto hard surfaces, picking them up, and cuddling, carrying, pushing, rolling and throwing them.

/////////////////////////////////BIPOLAR APE - COMPETITION VS COOPERATION
///////////////////////////Curent Biology paper, “Savanna Chimpanzees, Pan troglodytes verus, Hunt with Tools” are claiming the chimps are actually making the spears, and not just selecting for sticks that would be good spears. If this is the case, then this is a critical behavior that distinguishes this form of tool use, from nut cracking. In nut cracking, chimpanzees select for stones that would be more effective in cracking nuts. They don’t particularly make stones that would be good nut crackers.
///////////////////SOCIAL MAMMALS DO NOT LEAVE THE UNFORTUNATE BEHIND
////////////////////Together with recent data from wild gorillas and orangutans, the finding suggests that human females are rare or even unique among primates in experiencing a lengthy post-reproductive lifespan.
