• A causal relationship between non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) exposure and the development of infectious complications of varicella cannot be excluded (grade B).
• Children with varicella who require an NSAID such as ibuprofen for fever or general unwell appearance should be considered at higher risk of developing infectious complications of varicella
