Interesting comments and article. I’m in my 50s and don’t think of 70 as being old! I have an amazing 94yo friend who is still driving, walking her dog, living independently, cooking for family guests and giving me recipes. She says that when she lost her husband too early, she was forced to be more independent. This is also my experience with my late mother-in-law who died in her own home at 95, albeit with much daily support. I understand that for many older people life can be difficult, but hopefully it can also still be a participative experience. There is so much to learn from the very old.
