3 points — “Turiya, Shiva is Chidananda Roopa, Shivoham, Ajanma, Abhokta” meaning
1. Turiya — the fourth state beyond waking, dream, and deep sleep
Turiya refers to pure awareness that remains present in all three ordinary states: waking, dreaming, and deep sleep. It is not another experience but the background consciousness itself — the silent witness that exists even when the mind, body, and thoughts become still.
2. “Chidananda Roopa Shivoham” — I am pure consciousness and bliss
Chit = consciousness
Ananda = bliss
Roopa = nature/form
Shivoham = “I am Shiva” (not the deity, but pure awareness)
This means: my true nature is pure awareness and bliss — not the body or mind.
It points to identity with the witnessing consciousness rather than the personality.
3. “Ajanma, Abhokta” — unborn and non-experiencer
Ajanma = unborn, not created, beyond birth and death
Abhokta = non-enjoyer / non-doer (not the one actually experiencing)
This means the true Self (Shiva consciousness) does not act, suffer, or experience directly — it simply witnesses. The body and mind undergo life events, but the underlying awareness remains untouched.
In short:
Turiya = pure witnessing consciousness
Chidananda Roopa Shivoham = I am that consciousness-bliss
Ajanma Abhokta = unborn, untouched witness beyond experience
