How does one come to a confident and positive view that is not naive, given the state of the world? By walking through one’s own anger and despair and emerging into serenity.

This image (artist unknown) is of the Buddha Akshobhya अक्षोभ्य (Sanskrit: Akṣobhya),
མི་བསྐྱོད་པ་(Tibetan: Mitrugpa). Akshobhya is the fifth Dyani Buddha that resides in the eastern direction. It is said... "that as a bodhisattva Akshobhya vowed to not get angry until reaching enlightenment."
DEITY INTRODUCTION:
Buddha Akshobhya, the 'Unshakeable One', Lord of the Vajra Family, is one of the Five Dhyani Buddhas or Five Wisdom Buddhas (Skt: Dhyani for "Meditation"); representing the fully purified skandha, or aggregates of form. In the Natural Liberation, he represents the mirror-like wisdom and the transmutation of the poison of aggression, anger and hatred. In Tibetan He is known as "Mitrugpa", the one who never becomes disturbed by anger or aggression. He is regarded as especially powerful for purifying negative karma.
Buddha Akshobhya established the enlightened intention that all sentient beings could purify any degree of non-virtue, even the extreme non-virtue of hatred, violence, and killing can be cleansed through relying on him as the focus of meditation, acknowledging and abandoning non-virtuous actions, and invoking his blessings of purification. In the Akshobhya's Sutra, Buddha Sakyamuni himself extolled the perseverance of Akshobhya in actualizing this intention so powerfully that countless beings have been saved from the intense suffering of lower states of existence.
Akshobhya's pureland is Abhirati, the Land of Exceeding Great Delight, and according to the Sutra, it's said that whoever reborn there will not be fallen back to a lower level of consciousness.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Buddha Akshobhya, the immutable and imperturbable, is associated with the east and represents the vajra family. He is blue in coloured. [In this image] his right hand [is] making the bhumisparsha mudra, the earth-touching gesture, [this] denotes unshakability; while his left hand rests on his lap holding a vajra. Vajra denotes enlighten mind, the indestructible, adamantine nature of pure consciousness, or the essence of ultimate reality.

Around 4 billion years ago, a massive object the size of Mars, dubbed Theia, collided with a young, developing Earth, also called the proto-Earth. The collision tossed vaporized particles from the Earth into space, which were then bound together through gravity to form the Moon.
Moon may have shielded the Earth from losing its atmosphere.

Whenever we think of the good accumulated by others, however great or small, and we rejoice sincerely, from our hearts and without a trace of jealousy, this mere act of rejoicing will cause us to accumulate the same merit as if we had carried out those positive actions ourselves.
Think about how Guru Rinpoche manifested in this universe: he came, free from any of the stains of the obscuring emotions, and benefited beings in all the three worlds through his countless emanations, turning the Wheel of Dharma and teaching the Nine Yanas.
If we rejoice wholeheartedly at such wonderful deeds, then we actually share in their merit. The same holds true whenever we experience a deeply felt joy at any virtuous action performed by others - teachers, disciples, hermits, or anyone who benefits others. So this rejoicing should be sincere, and come from the depths of our hearts.
- Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche - Guru Yoga

A body to support practice of the holy Dharma is difficult to obtain, and its nature is impermanent and swift to disintegrate.
From thorough understanding of adopting virtue and abandoning sin, with sincere conscientiousness, take very great care.
That is the first stage.
Within the ocean of samsara are sentient beings without limit.
Seeing them swallowed by the sea monster of suffering, generate the renunciation that seeks
the dry ground of the liberation of nirvana.
This is the second stage.
As extensive as space, wandering sentient beings have again and again been my parents.
By remembering the kindness and benefit they gave, with loving kindness, compassion, and the excellent enlightenment mind, accomplish the purposes of others.
This is the third stage.
Everything that is experienced is mind;
that very mind, a mere collection of causes and conditions, is an illusion.
Knowing illusion to be free of all elaboration,
meditate on ultimate truth.
This is the fourth stage.
On all occasions, make offerings to the Three Jewels; gradually abandon nonvirtuous things;
care for the unprotected and the impoverished through generosity.
Then if you dedicate your merits accordingly, perfectly purified from the three impure aspects, your temporary and ultimate wishes and aspirations will certainly be accomplished.
~ The 41st Sakya Trizin, Kyabgon Gongma Trichen Rinpoche

During the early universe, galaxy and star formation was at an all-time high.
A mere few hundred million years after the Big Bang, nearly half of the stars that have ever existed had already formed.
The rate of star formation has decreased by tenfold since then, but there is a missing piece in the story of what fueled the rapid spurt of star births early in the universe and why the growth has since slowed.
