SS A

 A

Here and now, there is only this.

Not the idea of it. Not the memory of it. Not the interpretation forming a second too late—but this, as it is, before anything is added.

At first, the mind tries to step in, as it always does. It wants to name what is happening, place it somewhere, decide what it means. A subtle tension appears with the naming itself, as though experience is incomplete until it is framed. But even that tension is just another appearance—another movement in the field of awareness.

Something notices this.

Not a thinker behind the eyes, not a small observer located somewhere inside the head—but a simple, unobstructed knowing. It does not arrive. It is already here. It does not move toward experience. It is what allows experience to be known at all.

Thoughts arise within it, quietly at first, then more insistently. A commentary forms. A judgment begins to shape itself. “This is good.” “This is unclear.” “This should be different.” And yet, none of it stays fixed. Each thought dissolves as soon as it is seen, like writing on water.

Even the urge to hold onto a label is seen. Even the subtle push to define what this moment “is” becomes visible as just another passing event. There is no need to fight it. No need to correct it. It simply appears, unfolds, and disappears on its own.

And in the middle of all this movement, something remains untouched.

Not separate from it. Not outside of it. But not contained by it either.

Awareness does not describe what is happening. It does not choose between experiences. It does not move toward one thing or away from another. It allows everything to arise in the same open field without resistance.

A sound appears. A sensation appears. A thought about tomorrow appears. A memory appears. And each one is equally held—not by effort, but by the simple fact that they are known.

The sense of “me” also appears. It claims ownership. It says, “I am experiencing this.” But even that is just another thought, another ripple, no different in substance from any other arising.

Seen clearly, it cannot remain solid.

And so the structure of identification loosens—not through force, not through rejection, but through recognition. What is being taken to be “someone” is just another movement within awareness. It is not the source of knowing. It is what is known.

There is a quiet relief in this—not dramatic, not emotional, but simple. Like something unnecessary being put down without effort.

And still, life continues. Sensations continue. Thoughts continue. Decisions continue. But nothing needs to be owned in quite the same way.

Everything is allowed to appear as it is.

And in that allowing, nothing is missing.

Here and now,

be aware -

wordlessly,

thoughtlessly.

Notice,

Your awareness carries no motive

to move experience here or there.

Notice,

Your awareness offers no description or label

about the current experience that is appearing.

Any label, description, or motive that may be arising in this moment

is perceived.

It is also an experience that appears and passes.

You are not that.

You are not even doing that.

You are simply aware of its arising.

Do not identify.

Notice yourself always

as the awareness prior to it,

in which it appears.

With you in practice,
