First of all, There is No difference between Vishnu and his avatars Narayana is Moola Rupa and Rama, Krishna, Kalki are avatara Roopas. But They all are Same. There is No difference between Moola Rupa and avatara Roopa. Vishnu and Shiva both are different but vishnu and his avatars are Not different.Matsya, kurma, Hayagriva, Mohini, dhanvantri, varaha, Narasimha, vamana, Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, Veda vyasa, Bhuddha, Kalki. They all are Same.According To Madhvacharya lord Vishnu Takes avatars For Two Reasons. “Balakarya” and “Gyana Karya” Lord Vishnu achieves His purpose by Strength as in his Forms as Rama, Krishna etc. Similarly in his Forms as Dattatreya, Vyasa etc he achieves his purpose by knowledge.Gautama Bhuddha is Not an incarnation of lord vishnu. There are Two Bhuddhas. Vishnu’s avatar is Sugata bhuddha Not Siddhartha gautama.There is one Vishnu shloka it says-‘Durjana Mohaka Bhuddha Swaroopa Sajjana Bhodaka Kalki Swaroopa’it Means lord vishnu The one who incarnated as Bhuddha To delude The durjanas and He is The one who is going to incarnate as Kalki To Protect The Sajjanas.There is one Venkatesha shloka in Padma Purana it says-“Maha Krodho, Maha Jwalo, Maha Shanto, Maha gunaha”Lord Vishnu is “Maha Krodha” as well as he is “Maha Shanta”Narasimha, Parashurama, Kalki are Krodha avatars whereas Rama, Bhuddha, Veda Vyasa, are Shanta avatars.Vishnu sahasranama shloka describes him “Eko Vishnur Mahadbhutam” So all The avatars of Vishnu are one and the same. Madhvacharya clearly says one who Find any difference between vishnu and his avatars such sinners will suffer in hell. There are Navavidha bhakti as well as There are Navavidha dveshas. Seeing vishnu and his avatars as different personality is one of the dvesha(hatred) Towards The lord. This is big sin. So There is No difference between Vishnu and his avatars.
