No thought meditation

 Meditation will change your life.

If you give it a chance you will feel calmer, more focused and happier.

Meditation makes you emotionally stronger because instead of getting “hooked into” the feelings that you experience, you recognize them as something separate from who you are.

It’s harder for them to take you on that wild, unsustainable, exhausting roller coaster ride.

What you need to do to be an accomplished meditator is to focus on your breath.

That’s it.

Do it every day, even if you only focus on your breath for a couple of minutes.

Pick a quiet spot and time of day. You can, for example, wake up a bit earlier than everyone else.

Or, pick any time of day and hide in the bathroom.

You need to be, just for a snippet of time you lovingly give yourself, free of external distractions.

Make sure you sit in a position where your spine is straight.

Your mind will do what minds do. It will think. It will wander. It will produce list after list of things to do, things you need to get at the supermarket, things you have forgotten, things you better not have forgotten, a list of more important things to do than sit there and do nothing.

It will tell you that it’s much more important to be busy.

It will make your nose itch.

It will tell you you are sooooo soooo sleeeeepy.

It will tell you to be very concerned that you are not doing it right.

It will get you to freak out.

Allow all this to happen. Regard it without judgement. “Huh. Look! All the things Dushka said!”

Ignore everything, let it pass you by, and focus on your breath.

Welcome to the very best thing you can do for yourself, your life, your sanity and your happiness.
