TOLB. ONIOC

That’s a concise way to express a core idea in Advaita Vedanta.

A slightly expanded version might be:

“Do your level best. The outcome is not in your control.”

In an Advaita framing:

  • You fully engage in action (karma).
  • You don’t claim ownership over results.
  • Success and failure are seen as passing conditions, not your identity.

It also echoes the spirit of the Bhagavad Gita: act with sincerity, but without attachment to the fruits of action.

A useful distinction here is:
Effort is yours. Outcome isn’t fully yours.
You influence outcomes, but you do not control all variables.

That mindset can reduce paralysis and overthinking while still demanding seriousness and responsibility.
