GON SPINOZAIC

 A

  • Spinozist Pantheism (Deus sive Natura): God and Nature are identical. Divinity is not an anthropomorphic ruler issuing moral decrees, but the self-sustaining, indifferent universe functioning through absolute physical laws.

  • Absence of Human Constructs in Nature: Physical reality operates without holy books, promised lands, national borders, economic currencies, or afterlife guarantees. These are inter-subjective human fictions designed to organize societies.

  • Direct Experiential Learning: Physical laws like gravity serve as unbiased, unyielding teachers. Learning occurs through immediate empirical feedback—such as falling and feeling pain—rather than through institutional faith or abstract belief.

  • Evolution of Religious Function:

    • Phase 1 (Tribal Survival & Warfare): Early mythologies created group cohesion, overcoming the natural self-preservation instinct to send individuals to die in battle for collective defense or expansion.

    • Phase 2 (Post-Atomic Commercialization): As empirical science and technological weapons (like the atomic bomb) answered existential cosmic questions, institutions pivoted toward profit, media influence, and corporate-style marketing.

    • Phase 3 (Modern Political Instrument): Religion today primarily functions as an identity mechanism and organized voting bloc to capture secular state power.

  • Epistemological Rifts over the "Soul": Metaphysics posits an immortal, non-physical essence, whereas scientific epistemology demands empirical evidence, falsifiability, and physical mechanisms. Neuroscience demonstrates that personality and consciousness fluctuate with brain chemistry and structure, making an isolated, dualistic "soul" scientifically unverifiable.
