Bhagavad Gita 4.1 — English Translation
Lord Krishna said:
“I taught this imperishable yoga to Vivasvan (the Sun-god); Vivasvan taught it to Manu, and Manu in turn taught it to Ikshvaku.”
— Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 4, Verse 1
Meaning: Krishna explains that this eternal wisdom of yoga was passed down through a sacred lineage from the Sun-god to Manu, and then to King Ikshvaku. It shows that the knowledge of spiritual living and self-realization is ancient and was traditionally transmitted from teacher to student.
