MANTRA JAPA X GAYATRI MANTRA x B MIND

Declaration Aum Meaning: God’s ultimate name. Bhur Bhuvah Swaha Meaning: These words express the inherent qualities that exist as God. Bhur is existence. Bhuvah illustrates God’s consciousness. Swaha tells us God is inherent in all things. Function Statement 1 Tat Savitur Varenyam Meaning: Within the context of the Gayatri, this means that the user is selflessly directing praise to God. The word tat means “that,” and in the Gayatri indicates that the praises are being directed to God. Savitur is a name for God as the source of all things, as well as God’s blessings for humankind. Varenyam means “who is eligible/worthy” of receiving God’s blessings. Function Statement 2 Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi. Meaning: The three words of this statement further describe the qualities of God from a functional perspective. Bhargo describes the light that is God’s love. Devasya is derived from the Sanskrit word deva, and illustrates the many facets of God’s attributes, without which nothing can exist. Dhimahi means to place our focus on God. Completion Statement Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayat! Meaning: Dhiyo means “intellect” and is used in this mantra to ask God to direct our abilities and use of our intellect. Yo means “who” and reminds us that our prayer is for God alone. Nah means “ours” and signifies that our mantra is for all people in addition to ourselves. Prachodayat completes the mantra and signifies that the entire mantra is a request to God as we seek safety, peace, and happiness.

/////////////////////Only to the extent that we expose ourselves over and over to annihilation can that which is indestructible be found in us. — PEMA CHÖDRÖN, TIBETAN BUDDHIST NUN

////////////////////Fear of annihilation can be triggered by seemingly unrelated everyday experiences. Or more precisely, by our perception of everyday experiences. It’s possible that our fear of nonexistence may be universal because we share the uncertainty of the human condition. One of the great ironies of the modern age is that, in spite of our grand technological achievements, we’ve yet to answer with scientific certainty the most basic questions of our existence: Who are we? Where do we come from? Where do we go when we die?

 (5) Doubt is an obstruction, a hindrance, an encumbrance of the mind, a state that weakens wisdom. These are the five obstructions, hindrances, encumbrances of the mind, states that weaken wisdom.
