When you Hype a YouTube video, you give it extra support to help it get noticed by more people, especially if it comes from a smaller creator.
Here’s what happens:
- 📈 It can get more visibility. Your Hype adds points to the video’s Hype score, which can help it rank on YouTube’s Hype leaderboard.
- 🏆 It can help the creator rank. Videos with more Hype can compete for a place among the most-hyped videos in eligible regions.
- 👀 More people may discover the video. A higher ranking can help new viewers find the creator’s content.
- ❤️ It supports the creator. Hype is a way to show that you think their video deserves more attention.
A few important things to know:
- You can usually Hype up to 3 times per week for free.
- The video must generally be a regular, long-form video published within the last 7 days, from an eligible channel with 500–500,000 subscribers.
- Hype does not directly give the creator money when you use the free option.
- The creator cannot see exactly who hyped their video, and you cannot undo a Hype once you’ve used it.
