Olding

We are only given a limited number of decades in our lives—it would be a terrible thing to come to their end with a sense of disappointment. I am in charge of how my life turns out, and I will make the most of it.

Dreaming about the future may be diverting enough when we’re young, with the days of our lives still ahead of us. But as the years tick by and we realize we’re running out of time, it becomes more important than ever to seize the day.

“Sat Chit Ananda is the nature of God.  God does not know separation and therefore does not know suffering, only peace.  But “he” is at the basis of all experience, even underneath the greatest suffering; there is happiness, bliss, God.”

The fear of being old and alone isn’t really about who goes with you to medical appointments, it’s about isolation and loneliness.

A

Not out there

“However, we have no direct evidence of a material world “out there”, beyond Consciousness.  All we ever directly experience is experiencing (perceiving, feeling, thinking).  For instance, we never really see, touch, or hear a bird.  All we can be certain of is our seeing, touching, and hearing, which upon examination seem to be made out of knowing, or awareness.  We never find the bird out there.”

Complaining about the cost of everything seems to be woven into the very fabric of old age. Yes, prices continue to rise faster than pension and Social Security checks do, but I will accept that as inevitable and not become prickly about it. (Except, maybe, about the cost of iPhones.)

One element of Krishna’s attitude that will impress even the most casual reader is his tolerance and inclusiveness. Even those who don’t know him are held in the truly magnicent embrace of the following quatrain:
However men try to reach me,
I return their love with my love; whatever path they may travel, it leads to me in the end. (4.11)
And, at least in the rst two-thirds of the poem, Krishna’s largehearted attitude toward the wicked reminds us of Jesus’s God, who “makes his sun rise on the wicked and on the good, and sends rain to the righteous and to the unrighteous”:
Even the heartless criminal,
if he loves me with all his heart,
will certainly grow into sainthood
as he moves toward me on this path.
Quickly that man becomes pure, his heart nds eternal peace. Arjuna, no one who truly
loves me will ever be lost.
All those who love and trust me,
even the lowest of the low— prostitutes, beggars, slaves—
will attain the ultimate goal. (9.30–32)
The climax of the Gita is its eleventh chapter, in which Krishna appears to Arjuna in his supreme form. It is a terrifying theophany, a glimpse into a level of reality that is more than the ordinary mind can bear.

“For large cosmic objects, energy and gravity conspire to turn objects into spheres. Gravity is the force that serves to collapse matter in all directions, but gravity does not always win—chemical bonds of solid objects are strong. "A person who desires liberation from this material world should not fall under the control of anger because when bewildered by anger one becomes a source of dread for all others." (Srimad Bhagavatam, 4.11.32)

N

"The supreme cause of all causes, Nārāyaṇa, is situated in His own abode in the spiritual world, but nevertheless He controls the entire cosmic manifestation according to the three modes of material nature — sattva-guṇa, rajo-guṇa and tamo-guṇa. In this way all living entities are awarded different qualities, different names [such as brāhmaṇa, kṣatriya and vaiśya], different duties according to the varṇāśrama institution, and different forms. Thus Nārāyaṇa is the cause of the entire cosmic manifestation." (Srimad Bhagavatam, 6.1.41)

Sense bondage

"By steady knowledge, a sage should clearly ascertain the nature of the soul's bondage and liberation. Bondage occurs when the senses are deviated to sense gratification, and complete control of the senses constitutes liberation." (Uddhava Gita, 13.22)

K

"One who actually satisfies the Supreme Personality of Godhead during one’s lifetime becomes liberated from the gross and subtle material conditions. Thus being freed from all material modes of nature, he achieves unlimited spiritual bliss." (Srimad Bhagavatam, 4.11.14)

Cosm

“As large as the universe outside, even so large is the universe within the lotus of the heart. Within it are heaven and earth, the sun, the moon, the lightning, and all the stars. What is in the macrocosm is in this microcosm.” (Chandogya Upanishad, 8.1.3)

Will

“A person is, above all, his will. As is his will in this life, so does he become when he departs from it. Therefore should his will be fixed on attaining Brahman (God).” (Chandogya Upanishad, 3:14:1b)

Watts present

"We are living in a culture entirely hypnotized by the illusion of time, in which the so-called present moment is felt as nothing but an infintesimal hairline between an all-powerfully causative past and an absorbingly important future. We have no present. Our consciousness is almost completely preoccupied with memory and expectation. We do not realize that there never was, is, nor will be any other experience than present experience. We are therefore out of touch with reality. We confuse the world as talked about, described, and measured with the world which actually is. We are sick with a fascination for the useful tools of names and numbers, of symbols, signs, conceptions and ideas."

HURT TO WISDOM X EVEN NADO AWDAKOM

"As we grow older, real beauty travels from the face to the heart, appeal turns to charm, hurt to wisdom, and great moments to shared memories. The true beauty of life is not how happy you are now, but how happy others are because of you."

William Martin's The Parent’s Tao Te Ching.

“Do not ask your children

to strive for extraordinary lives.

Such striving may seem admirable,

but it is a way of foolishness.

Help them instead to find the wonder

and the marvel of an ordinary life.

Show them the joy of tasting

tomatoes, apples and pears.

Show them how to cry

when pets and people die.

Show them the infinite pleasure

in the touch of a hand.

And make the ordinary come alive for them.

The extraordinary will take care of itself.”#

Letting go of an “I” that wants a ‘next step.’ :-)

“Who” wants a next step? “Who” wants a feeling of Oneness? Doesn’t identifying or catering to a separate “I” that wants these things immediately confer duality instead of Oneness?

“You” are a dream-character, and “your” function is to dream in separateness. Oneness is already doing Oneness. It doesn’t need you to emulate that.

If the ilusory “I” that wants Oneness and wants ‘next steps’ ever collapses (a non-event that does not take place in time and which “you,” absolutely, cannot ‘cause,’) all there will be is Oneness, or Being. It’s all there has ever been…and it’s not “your” concern.

Unless you are still clinging to being an “I,” chasing after experiences and ‘spiritual progress.’ 🙏🏻

BHAKTA AVATAR

Hanuman ji is God in the form of Bhakta (devotee) while Shri Ram is God in the form of Aaradhya (God). So yes, Hanuman ji is definitely God. He is actually a Bhakt avatar i.e. He is God but in the form of devotee while Shri Ram is God in the form of leader. God in his Ram roop teaches us how to lead while God in his Hanuman form teaches how to serve, support

BDANI COLLAPSE

Drinking plenty of water slows down the aging process, improves sleep, and lowers the odds of having lung and heart disease, a study finds.

Those who do not get enough fluids were found to have high levels of sodium and consequently were more likely to age quicker, develop various conditions, and die earlier.

Excuse Me While I Disappear
A

This is a good question.

All is truly Brahman.
Brahman is limitless and free.
You are That.

Then what is Moksha?

For that, we must understand what is Samsara.

Samsara is a thought.
Nothing more.

Samsara is the mistaken thought:
“I am a limited, bound, incomplete, suffering entity”

Moksha is the absence of this thought.

The presence of a thought is relative.
The absence of a thought is also relative.

Brahman is not bothered in either case.

So both Samsara and Moksha
Have no effect on Brahman.

Both Samsara and Moksha
Are ultimately false.

Then why bother with Moksha if it’s false?

Because false Samsara is as real as it seems.

And only false Moksha
Can get rid of false Samsara.

One thorn removes the other
Before both are discarded.

There comes a point
Where it’s more important
To overcome Moksha
Than it is to overcome Samsara.
