pneumatosis intestinalis, is associated with various diseases, including pulmonary disease, autoimmune disorders, immunosuppression, and bowel ischaemia, but can be an incidental finding. The most likely cause here was chemotherapy induced impaired mucosal integrity, which permitted gas forming bacteria to invade the bowel wall
