the most sustainable use of resources is -

a) don't consume it - then the resource lasts forever

b) use less - the resource lasts longer and is less likely to be exhausted, may naturally replenish - and

c) reuse - someone tosses old furniture, tools or equipment on the street, the next person picks it up - perfect, and continues to use it - no greenhouse gases were harmed in the continued use of an existing product.
