PALS BRADYCARDIA

PALS Bradycardia
Treat bradycardia with poor perfusion, altered mental status, hypotension or shock
1) supplemental O2 and assist respiration if needed
2) start CPR if heart rate less than 60 if signs of hypotension (kids can’t change their contractility as much as adults, thus are rate dependent)
3) give epinephrine 0.01mg/kg IV/IO Q3-5min
4) atropine 0.02mg/kg IV/IO
  • min dose 0.1 mg
  • max dose 0.5 mg
  • may repeat x 1
6) consider trans-cutaneous or trans-venous pacing
