I think about this all the time.
If we know everybody dies (oh hi Dave) we should be more prepared, more adroit at handling death’s imminent arrival.
The best answer I can come up with is this: if I climb a tree and from the tallest branch I realize I will fall and break my arm, that will not lessen the pain of falling and breaking my arm.
Alas. The ability to anticipate pain is not an antidote to it.
