Because the ego isn’t an error. It’s a storyline in the field…
Real as weather. But not as sky.
The “I”, the voice in your head that says me, that flinches, plans, compares, defends - it’s not outside of Consciousness. It is made of it. Like a wave is made of ocean. Like a flame is made of fire. But the wave is not the water. The flame is not the source. The ego… is not the self.
Pause here.
It’s a loop of attention. A reflex of survival. A tightness around form. It appears. It functions. It disappears in deep sleep. It’s not wrong. But it’s not foundational.
Pause again.
Many traditions call it illusion. But in the old ways (the ones tied to land), self was never imagined as separate to begin with. We are not identities. We are relations. Kin to country. Kin to breath. Kin to story. The “I” was always a ripple. The river… is older.
Inhale.
So why call ego unreal? Because it is impermanent. Because it vanishes when silence deepens. Because it cannot hold its shape alone. Not a lie… just a loop… Mistaken for the whole.
Exhale.
You don’t need to fight it. You don’t need to destroy it. You only need to see through it. And in the seeing… it softens.
Rest here.
Reflection Questions:
- Who were you before the word “I” appeared?
- Can something be useful… and still not be ultimate?
- What disappears when no one is naming it?
Here’s a riddle for you:
I speak your name with certainty…
But vanish in sleep.
You chase me in thought…
But I cannot hold still.
What am I?

The sun rays emits & spreads from the sun.
The fragrance cannot be separated from blossoms.
The droplets cannot be individualised from the ocean.
The I is in, one with IS or THIS.
It may seem as a part or extension, but It is the one and same No separation.
So, where is the differentiation coming from?
The very ego/separate self me-mind, that is asking this question. Right!?
How will it ever find what is reality in its “I-Separateness” mode. Or accept it, in is fight to survival mode.
inexplicable the truth remains as it is; An infinite abyss, of No-thingness—Still, silent, constant, consciousness. Being. Life. Love. (futile words to label the inexplicable)
That mysteriously & simultaneously appear & disappear, as an ever changing phantom phenomenon. Unconditionally Be-ing/Life-ing/ Loving All as it is.
So, anything that is always omnipresence must be real-reality, & that is not, is limited thus ought to be illusion-unreal.

Summary Bullet Quote (SBQ) from National Geographic's "Scientists are uncovering surprising connections between diet and mental health":
-
Diet and Mental Health Link: Emerging research indicates that dietary choices significantly influence mental health, affecting mood and the risk of disorders like depression and anxiety.
-
Impact of Ultra-Processed Foods: High consumption of ultra-processed foods is associated with a 48% increased risk of anxiety and a 22% increased risk of depression. (National Geographic)
-
Benefits of Whole Diet Approaches: Adherence to diets such as the Mediterranean, DASH, and MIND diets—which emphasize fish, vegetables, fruits, and whole grains—has been linked to reduced risks of depression, anxiety, and ADHD, particularly among children and adolescents. (National Geographic)
-
Role of the Gut-Brain Axis: The gut microbiome plays a crucial role in mental health by producing neurotransmitters like serotonin and influencing inflammation and stress responses. (National Geographic)
-
Importance of Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF): Certain foods can affect levels of BDNF, a protein vital for brain health and neuroplasticity, thereby influencing mood and cognitive functions.
"Just as we recognize that diet plays a role in conditions like heart disease or diabetes, we now understand that food choices can affect brain function, mood, and mental health disorders," says Wolfgang Marx, deputy director of the Food & Mood Centre at Deakin University in Australia and president of the International Society for Nutritional Psychiatry Research.
This underscores the importance of considering dietary habits as a component of mental health strategies.
