विश्वस्य सृष्ट्युत्थितिसंयमाय

citraketūrvāca —

namo namaste ’khila-karṇa-dhārāya

nāvāya tasmai puruṣāya bhūmne ।

viśvasya sṛṣṭy-utthiti-saṁyamāya

trayī-guṇāyānubhavāntarātmane ॥

Meaning (summary):

King Chitraketu said: O Supreme Lord, You are the helmsman and the boat for crossing the ocean of material existence. I offer my repeated obeisances unto You, the Supreme Person, who controls creation, maintenance, and annihilation and who manifests through the three modes of nature yet remains transcendental to them.

Another verse (6.16.36):

आत्मैव मे मतिरिदं त्वयि नित्ययुक्ता

माया-गुणेष्वपि न लिप्यसि धर्मसेतु ।

द्रष्टासि दृश्यविषयोऽखिल आत्मलीनः

नान्यं त्वदस्त्यपि सुतारमिमं भवानि ॥

Meaning:

My Lord, my mind is constantly engaged in You, the Supreme Self. You are never affected by the modes of nature, though You are their controller. You are the seer and the object of seeing, everything is absorbed in You, yet nothing exists independent of You.

Closing verse (6.16.49):

नमो नमस्तेऽखिलकर्महेतु

प्रभोऽखिलेशेश्वर ईशितारम् ।

यत्तेऽवधूतं गतिमात्मलिङ्गं

वन्दे परं तेऽन्यदिहान नान्यत् ॥

Meaning:

I bow down again and again to You, the cause of all causes, the Lord of all controllers, and the master of everything. You are beyond all material activities and symbols of identity. I offer my respects unto You, the Supreme, for there is nothing beyond You.
