How can I be blissful within myself and maintain it? What are things to understand that lead to natural spirituality?

First thing to understand is what you are: a body, a mind, awareness.

It is good to understand that your body produces a wide spectrum of sensations, from pleasant to unpleasant, from blissful to painful.

It is good to understand that your mind holds a wide spectrum of thoughts, from pleasant to unpleasant, from good to bad, from right to wrong, from blissful to painful.

All the sensations, all the emotions, all the thoughts, are normal and natural. That is how your body functions, that is how your mind functions.

Another normal, natural function of your mind is the ability to imagine, to fantasize, to picture something that doesn’t exist. The idea that one can somehow remove from one’s own experience all the sensations, emotions and thoughts that one doesn’t want, that one doesn’t like, is such a fantasy. It is a fantasy that, given how your body functions, given how your mind functions, is not possible to make into reality.

It doesn’t matter what you do, how much you meditate, how many walks in nature you take, how many experiences you experience or how many happy pills you pop. Your body will continue functioning as it does, and your mind will continue functioning as it does.

What you can do is accept that.

This is the natural spirituality: acceptance of that which is, rather than an attempt to achieve fantasies.
