You are Anjani's son and known as the wind god’s child. -
महावीर विक्रम बजरंगी।
You are the mighty, brave one with a strong body like thunderbolt. -
कुमति निवार सुमति के संगी॥
You dispel evil thoughts and are a companion to those with wisdom. -
कंचन बरन बिराज सुबेसा।
Golden in complexion and beautifully dressed. -
कानन कुंडल कुंचित केसा॥
You wear earrings and have curly hair. -
हाथ बज्र औ ध्वजा बिराजै।
You hold a mace and a flag in your hands. -
कांधे मूंज जनेऊ साजै॥
A sacred thread of grass adorns your shoulder. -
संकर सुवन केसरी नंदन।
You are Shiva’s incarnation and Kesari’s son. -
तेज प्रताप महा जग वंदन॥
Your splendor is renowned and worshipped by the world. -
विद्यावान गुनी अति चातुर।
You are wise, virtuous, and extremely clever. -
राम काज करिबे को आतुर॥
Always eager to serve Lord Ram. -
प्रभु चरित्र सुनिबे को रसिया।
You delight in listening to the deeds of Ram. -
राम लखन सीता मन बसिया॥
Ram, Lakshman, and Sita dwell in your heart. -
सूक्ष्म रूप धरि सियहिं दिखावा।
You took a small form to appear before Sita. -
विकट रूप धरि लंक जरावा॥
You assumed a fierce form to burn Lanka. -
भीम रूप धरि असुर संहारे।
You took a terrifying form to destroy demons. -
रामचंद्र के काज सवारे॥
You accomplished all tasks for Ram. -
लाय सजीवन लखन जियाए।
You brought the Sanjeevani herb and revived Lakshman. -
श्री रघुबीर हरषि उर लाए॥
Ram joyfully embraced you. -
रघुपति कीन्ही बहुत बड़ाई।
Ram greatly praised you. -
तुम मम प्रिय भरतहि सम भाई॥
He said you are as dear to Him as brother Bharat. -
सहस बदन तुम्हरो जस गावैं।
Thousands of mouths sing your glory. -
अस कहि श्रीपति कंठ लगावैं॥
Saying this, Lord Ram hugged you. -
सनकादिक ब्रह्मादि मुनीसा।
Sages like Sanaka and gods like Brahma respect you. -
नारद सारद सहित अहीसा॥
Narad, Saraswati, and the serpent-god sing your praise. -
यम कुबेर दिगपाल जहाँ ते।
Yama, Kubera, and guardians of the directions respect you. -
कबि कोबिद कहि सके कहाँ ते॥
Poets and scholars cannot describe your glory. -
तुम उपकार सुग्रीवहिं कीन्हा।
You helped Sugriva. -
राम मिलाय राज पद दीन्हा॥
You united him with Ram and secured his throne. -
तुम्हरो मन्त्र विभीषन माना।
Vibhishan followed your advice. -
लंकेश्वर भय सब जग जाना॥
He became king of Lanka, known to all. -
जुग सहस्त्र जोजन पर भानू।
The sun is thousands of yojanas away, -
लील्यो ताहि मधुर फल जानू॥
Yet you swallowed it thinking it was a sweet fruit. -
प्रभु मुद्रिका मेलि मुख माहीं।
You kept Ram’s ring in your mouth, -
जलधि लाँघि गए अचरज नाहीं॥
And leapt across the ocean without surprise. -
दुर्गम काज जगत के जेते।
All difficult tasks in the world, -
सुगम अनुग्रह तुम्हरे तेते॥
Become easy with your grace. -
राम दुआरे तुम रखवारे।
You guard Ram’s door. -
होत न आज्ञा बिनु पैसारे॥
No one enters without your permission. -
सब सुख लहै तुम्हारी सरना।
All happiness comes from taking refuge in you. -
तुम रक्षक काहू को डरना॥
With you as protector, there is nothing to fear. -
आपन तेज सम्हारो आपै।
You control your own immense power. -
तीनों लोक हाँक तै काँपै॥
Your roar shakes the three worlds. -
भूत पिशाच निकट नहिं आवै।
Evil spirits don’t come near you. -
महावीर जब नाम सुनावै॥
When someone chants your name, O Mahaveer. -
नासै रोग हरै सब पीरा।
You remove diseases and all pain. -
जपत निरंतर हनुमत बीरा॥
By constant chanting of your name, brave Hanuman. -
संकट तै हनुमान छुड़ावै।
Hanuman rescues from all trouble. -
मन क्रम वचन ध्यान जो लावै॥
For those who focus on you in thought, word, and deed. -
सब पर राम तपस्वी राजा।
Ram is the supreme ascetic king over all. -
तिन के काज सकल तुम साजा॥
You carry out all His tasks. -
और मनोरथ जो कोई लावै।
Whatever desires anyone brings to you, -
सोइ अमित जीवन फल पावै॥
They receive infinite blessings. -
चारों जुग परताप तुम्हारा।
Your glory is known across all four ages. -
है परसिद्ध जगत उजियारा॥
You are famed and illuminate the world. -
साधु सन्त के तुम रखवारे।
You protect saints and sages. -
असुर निकंदन राम दुलारे॥
You destroy demons and are dear to Ram. -
अष्टसिद्धि नौ निधि के दाता।
You grant eight siddhis and nine treasures. -
अस बर दीन जानकी माता॥
Such boons were given to you by Sita. -
राम रसायन तुम्हरे पासा।
You hold the elixir of devotion to Ram. -
सदा रहो रघुपति के दासा॥
You always remain Ram’s servant. -
तुम्हरे भजन राम को पावै।
By singing your praises, one finds Ram. -
जनम जनम के दुख बिसरावै॥
All sorrows of life are forgotten. -
अंत काल रघुबर पुर जाई।
At death, one reaches Ram’s abode, -
जहाँ जन्म हरि भक्त कहाई॥
And is reborn as a devotee of Hari. -
और देवता चित्त न धरई।
No need to worship other gods, -
हनुमत सेइ सर्ब सुख करई॥
As serving Hanuman brings all joy. -
संकट कटै मिटै सब पीरा।
All troubles and pains are removed, -
जो सुमिरै हनुमत बलबीरा॥
By remembering mighty Hanuman. -
जय जय जय हनुमान गोसाईं।
Victory to you, O Lord Hanuman! -
कृपा करहु गुरुदेव की नाईं॥
Bless me like a true Guru. -
जो सत बार पाठ कर कोई।
Whoever recites this 100 times, -
छूटहि बंदि महा सुख होई॥
Will be freed from bondage and gain great joy. -
जो यह पढ़ै हनुमान चालीसा।
Anyone who reads this Hanuman Chalisa, -
होय सिद्धि साखी गौरीसा॥
Will attain success — Lord Shiva is witness.

81. तुलसीदास सदा हरि चेरा।
Tulsidas is forever a servant of Ram.
