How important is #dharma in life
Dharma of life
Karna asks Lord Krishna - "My mother Kunti abandoned me the moment I was born.
Is it my fault that I was born an illegitimate child???
I was denied education by Dhronacharya because I was considered a non- Kshatriya ( suta-putra)
Parshuram taught me warfare, but then cursed me that I will forget every Mantra while firing any Astra, in the midst of a war.
A cow was accidentally hit by my arrow & a Brahmin cursed me for no fault of mine.
I was disgraced in Draupadi's swayamvar.
Even Kunti finally told me the truth that I was born to her, only to save her other five sons, just before the start of the Kurukshetra war.
Whatever I received was only through Dhuryodhana's charity. So how am I wrong in taking his side?"
Krishna replies,
"Karna, I was born in a jail.
Death was waiting for me even before my birth.
The night I was born, I was separated from my own parents.
From your childhood, you grew up practising how to fight with swords, chariots, horses, bows and arrows.
I got only a cow herd's shed and multiple attempts were made on my life even before I could walk !!!
No army to defend my safety, no formal education.
I hear people saying that I am the reason for all their problems in life.
When you were being appreciated for your valour by your teachers, I had not even received any formal education.
I joined a gurukula of Rishi Sandeepani only at the age of 16!
You are married to a girl of your choice.
I ended up marrying only those girls, who wanted Me or the ones I rescued from the demons.
I had to move my whole community from the banks of Yamuna in Mathura, to the far off shores of Dwaraka, to save the Yadava clan from Jarasandh. I was called a coward for running away.
Remember one thing Karna....
Everybody has challenges in life.
LIFE IS NOT FAIR TO ANYBODY..
Yudhishthir was also meted with unfair treatment many times but he never abandoned the path of Dharma even for a moment in his entire life.
But what is Right (Dharma) is known to your Antaratma (Inner Conscience)....
No matter how life treats you in an unfair manner, how many times you were disgraced, how many times you were denied what was rightly due to you, what is important is how you REACTED at that time, without breaking the cardinal principles of Dharma.
Stop complaining Karna, you have sided with Duryodhan, knowing fully well that Duryodhan has broken Dharma at every stage in his life.
Life's unfairness does not give you the license to walk the wrong path of अधर्म.
