BG 6.21inner joy

 A

Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 6, Verse 21 (6.21)

Here’s the verse in Sanskrit with translation and explanation:

Sanskrit (IAST):

sukham ātyantikaṁ yat tad

buddhi-grāhyam atīndriyam

vetti yatra na caivāyaṁ

sthitaś calati tattvataḥ

Translation (English):

That happiness is beyond the grasp of the senses but is understood by the purified intellect. Established in that reality, one never departs from the truth.

Explanation:

  • Krishna is describing the state of the yogi absorbed in meditation.
  • The happiness referred to here is spiritual bliss (ānanda), which is not dependent on external objects or sense pleasures.
  • It is grasped only by the intellect (buddhi), not the gross senses.
  • Once one experiences this inner joy, one remains steady in truth (tattva), unaffected by worldly distractions.

👉 In short: This verse explains the inner, transcendental happiness realized through meditation, which cannot be disturbed once attained.

Would you like me to also give you a practical meditation method connected to this verse so you can experience what Krishna is describing?
